Let the Madness Begin

My wife is having “girl events” tonight and Sunday, so I am feeling a little left out.  I’ll have to console myself with NCAA basketball. Most of the chuckleheads that read this are in my tourney pool, so you know I got the Zags taking it all.

One guy that will not be invited back next year is #1.  He just busted my chops about not having a post up for a couple weeks.  He is nothing but insensitive.  Perhaps he does not realize what I’ve been going through with the ARod / JLo drama.  Are they on or off?  Are they taking a break? Are they practicing self-care?  I will be seeing #1 this weekend, but if he reads this before then, he’ll understand why I am not speaking to him.

In other celeb news, there's an article in the Daily Beast today about the Kardashians that "reveals their stunning COVID hypocrisy". I was taken aback.  Here’s an idea: pool your ill-gotten gains and do some real charity work.

They had to remove a Trump wax figure in San Antonio because people were punching it in the face, so it looks like Texas is trending in the right direction.  If Beto or Matthew McConaughey can give Abbott the boot, all the better.  And the unctuous Ted Cruz is up for re-election in 2024, so let us eject him as well.

Fox News is losing its mind over Dr. Seuss and Mr. Potato Head, but it seems to be OK with screwing millions of people out of their right to vote.  Go figure.  In any case, I like Wilson’s comeback to Governor Shitbird.

Another esteemed governor, Greg Abbott, is lifting mask and business restrictions.  Stupid is as stupid does.  He’s also claiming undocumented immigrants are spreading the virus in Texas.  If he’s right, which is highly unlikely, why not have people wear masks to fight transmission.  I’ll never understand these assholes. Here’s a prime example.  McConnell stated that Trump was responsible for 1/6 but weeks later said he’d support him if he’s the candidate in 2024.  Make sense of that!

Did everyone survive CPAC 2021, aka Lieapalooza?  Kim Guilfoyle said Trump will accomplish more in the next four years than Biden.  I’m unclear how he’ll do that from his jail cell.  OK, it’s a long shot, but it could happen.  Sarkozy just got sentenced to the slam, or as they call it in France, Hôtel Bar Gris. I also wonder how the far-right religious zealots felt about the golden calf Trump.  The late-night hosts had a field day, with Kimmel calling Trump Fibberace. And Ted Cruz’s stand-up career is dead on arrival.

I apparently have a new fan in upstate NY.  I tend to stretch the definition of fan.  All I need is one hit and they are a fan forever.  She was wondering about my take on the Lady Gaga canine kidnap caper.  Truthfully, I’m flummoxed.  Did they expect to collect ransom?  And why the hell did you have to shoot the guy? I have as much trouble with this as I do the Republican mindset.

One of my erstwhile musical heroes has a new album out. I think the last one of his I purchased was Into the Music, so I’m about 40 years behind.  I’ve already shared my Van concert experiences.
