LOA

I see Weiner wants to take a leave of absence to get professional treatment. Do they have facilities where they can ween you from the need to take and send pictures of your junk?

Speaking of LOAs, I'm planning to take a brief one. I just want my readership to be aware that I probably won't be posting anything until early July. I know it will be difficult, but I'm confident that you'll be able to muddle through.

Here's another pic of Gaga Lady to pump up the hit count.

Gimcracks

I got a slew of hits due to that Lady Gaga pic. I don't know whether to be pissed or post another one to get my hit count up.

I went to a Samsung Galaxy Tab event, aka Nerd Central, in the city Friday night,. One dude was dressed up as a pikachu. I kid you not. What's a pikachu? Here you go. Maybe it'll help my hit count.

They were giving away phones and Tabs, Samsung's version of the iPad. including the new 10.1. Most of the guys there were besides themselves, given the possibility of winning one. I was there for grins. I guess that's why I won a Tab. My kids were real nice to me when I got home. I should put it on eBay.

Staying with the technology theme, you hear a lot about the cloud these days. Since I'm an avid gambler investor, I'm putting my money where my mouth is. I bought some Nimbus and Cumulus call options last week.

This weekend is the Foster City Arts and Wine Festival. I was walking around there in the rain yesterday morning. Good times. I really don't understand the vendors that drag their useless shit from venue to venue. Can you really make a living that way?

We had a meeting recently to discuss our upcoming Peru trip. I realize the only reason I was invited was because I can string five or six Spanish words together while gesticulating wildly.

Did you know that Deepak Chopra has produced several albums of music? Who knew? One of his compositions came on the radio a while back. It made me switch the station to Oldies 103.7.

If you are wondering what Rod Blagojevich is up to lately, check this out. My take is that cat needs to fire his lawyer and hire a psychiatrist.

Graduation

I'll be heading down to Redwood City later today to see my little girl graduate high school. We had a party for her at my place Monday. If you're reading this and weren't invited, don't blame me. In these matters I just follow orders.

We went hog wild for the party, getting some excellent Mexican chow from La Tapatia. Folks made a pretty good dent in it but we'll be eating chicken fajitas and rice for the rest of the week. All this brings me back to my graduation day, when my old man kicked in a six pack of Pabst Blue Ribbon and a box of saltines.

We had a good crowd Monday. Most of the village was here, my sis, all the kid's friends and many of their parents. I was the consummate host as usual. A couple cute three year olds were roaming around too. We watched some Special Agent Oso together. SB1 and his village cohorts have all hit 21 now so they were dipping deep into the Corona well. I told TCG and The Exec's kids to stay out of there. They're only high school seniors. We also got a special visit from my mother-in-law. I keep trying to drive her to the airport but she insists her flight doesn't go out until Thursday morning.

Last night was the baccalaureate mass at NDNU. The wife and I managed to get into an argument as we were driving onto the campus. I apparently didn't steer the car in the right direction. However, my faux pas led us to nabbing a coveted parking spot in a very crowded lot. So there! But I didn't go into blame mode when we discovered she had not brought the required tickets to the event. She then she sprung into action as she is wont to do. She tracked down one of the school administrators, who secured us four tickets. That's one of the many reasons I married her. Why she married me remains a mystery. Maybe because at heart she's an altruist. Back in '85 when we met, I think she viewed me as a rescue.

The mass was a touching event, with a speech by the outgoing campus minister and some recollections from a couple of my daughter's close friends. We didn't attend the reception afterward, which was OK with me and apparently with SB1, after I explained to him that there would be no Jello shots.
