Bank Holiday
Hello
People
I'm
slightly sleep deprived - only 7 hours whereas I prefer 8 to 9 - but
as you know, I have re-embraced the SLA. So here I am.
The
reason I'm sleep deprived is that I was at the 50th birthday party
for The Banker's wife last night. They are the penultimate FC couple
hitting that milestone. The Belgians reach that mark next year.
There
was a lively crew at the event last night, which was held at Kingfish
in San Mateo. The chow was great, including sliders, chicken
skewers and pizza. I was well stuffed but I believe I left enough
for everyone else. And one of the featured wines was a Rosenblum
Zin, always a fine choice.
We
rode with the #1s there and back. The cab company sent an Expedition
to pick us up. It had enough room for the easel we brought for the
traditional village birthday spoof. We had a town car bring us home.
#1 wanted to try his new Uber app. It worked well.
We
had a great DJ so the dance floor was always packed. Most of the
women were dancing up a storm. I cut a rug briefly but I'm not as
light on my feet as I used to be.
I
could tell Mrs. Banker had a great time, surrounded by good friends
and family, including her 89 year old mother and her daughter that
flew in from school in Boston especially for the occasion. The
village pitched in with their own version of Family Feud. The
uber-prepared #1 had already polled the crowd via SurveyMonkey and
also created all the presentation materials. He ran the show with
the help of my wife. She was Vanna to his Richard Dawson. I was
allegedly the scorekeeper but my main job, which I relished, was to
blow the air horn on each incorrect response. The women won, the men
thought it was rigged, and I don't care.
Happy
B Day Mrs. B
