Baby Brouhaha

Besides Madonna going the Malawi Mall to do some kid shopping, there’s a fracas brewing in SF. A story in today’s Chronicle details the uproar over the comments of a radio talk show host about a gay SF Supervisor who has had a baby with a lesbian friend. The paper also printed some responses from local folk to the question of whether non-romantic couples should have kids. One man said “Where did this idea of children as pets come from? Another only in SF moment for voters in the red states to gloat about”. Since I am a non-controversial blogger, all I will do is quote one of my favorite philosophers, Barney the Purple Dinosaur, who once sagely sang, “A family is people and a family is love, that’s a family”.
