Turn up Your Radio

So we can get down to what's really wrong. For the uninitiated, that's Van The Man. And yes, we're going to talk about my radio experience of late, which has not been top of the pops. One of my two alternative pre-sets went belly up a few weeks back. It converted to a Chinese language station. That wasn't working for me so I had to make some changes.

Coming home today, I had it on 103.7 The Band for most of the ride. Don't ask me why. The button wasn't stuck or anything. They are rapidly becoming the new KFRC. I caught an awful Billy Joel hit, Scott McKenzie's one song, Lyin' Eyes, Joy To The World, and Saturday In the Park. Now don't get me wrong, I like me some Billy Joel now and then. You got it, the early stuff. I sung along with The Eagles: "Ain't no way to hide your mayonnaise". And Chicago got me thinking, exactly when did they jump the shark? I'm pretty sure it was not long after that hit. On the bright side, The Band payed one of my faves this morning, Build Me Up Buttercup, by The Foundations. And they seem to be playing less Boston, which is a major plus.

All music, all the time. The wife and I caught Rock Of Ages at the Curran yesterday. We both enjoyed it but were wondering where all the geezers came from. I mean real geezers. I figured the oldest folks in the audience might be 10 years older than me. But I'm sure I saw at least 30 septuagenarians there. We did go to the matinee but hey, what were they doing at any of the shows? I got no problem with it, but I was surprised. I saw a couple dudes putting in earplugs. I'll do that for a big concert, but I don't go to those anymore. The Exec went to see The Police on their last tour and he hasn't been the same since. During yesterday's show, one of the olds a couple rows up ripped a good fart. I thought maybe I was hearing things but then one lady looked at her hubby with a minor smirk. Yeah, they farted. TMI folks?

Also on the ride home today, I came across a boatload of sheep grazing off of 237. I mentioned this in my 5/16/09 post I understand this is an environmentally friendly way to mow the lawn. I thought I may have seen a goat out there too but I'm not sure. But plenty of sheep. I remember telling #1 about this some time back. He asked me if I was sure they weren't goats. Listen, I can tell the difference between a sheep and a goat. I can also tell the difference between a bunny and a puppy, you SOB!
