Birthday Boy
I became
a dad 27 years ago today. We brought the
bundle boy home after one night in the hospital. I remember well the first night at home, when
I wanted my wife to get as much sleep as she could. I was sitting on the couch with the kid at
around 4am, watching Dick Van Dyke or some other repeat. Sonny Boy 1 was squawking a bit, but if I
bounced him gently up and down, he would clam up. At that point, I would sit back on the couch
with him on my chest and try to get a few Zs.
After five minutes or so there’d be the “wah, wah, wah” and I’d get back to
bouncing. We repeated that drill several
times. Now he’s a big strong guy, not
that odor is everything. I think SB1 is
doing brunch with his friends today. We
decided to do the same, and just got back from Three, belly full.
I’ve been
following the news quite a bit lately and have come to the conclusion that
Devin Nunes is completely full of shit.
It is hard to get stuff by me. General
Flynn is looking for an immunity deal.
He probably wishes he hadn’t popped off previously about an immunity
request equaling guilt. His erstwhile
boss - inciter of violence according to Judge David J. Hale - whom I hope will
soon be our erstwhile dear leader, made the same claim. Lastly, I just saw that Nikki Haley said that
Trump's tweets are "chatter I don’t focus on." Holy Cow Batman! I am
not enjoying this White House reality show.
The feel
good story of the day is “Blac Chyna and Rob Kardashian kiss and make up after
six week break” but Kylie and Tyga may be in troubled waters. And the topper is
that the Hindustan Times is reporting that Kanye and Kim may be on the rocks as
well. Although HT is not the
authoritative source that TMZ is, this still sends shock waves through the DJ
household.
It is a
beautiful day here in Northern California so I am going to go out and clean my
new grill for the first time. If I was a
real blogger I’d try to come up with a few more paragraphs to delay that task. But as I mentioned in an earlier post, I
decided to give up blogging and start journaling.
