Sunday Fun Day

I called my buddy The Wig for blog inspiration this morning. That'll tell you how desperate I am. I caught him driving back from a night in DC with his lovely bride after a visit with their eldest son.

With the advent of the blessed West/Kardashian birth, we touched on baby names. I figured they could name North's little brother or sister South, but after that they'll need to think outside the box. Mrs. Wig brought up Kal-El, which I had heard before, but could not place the self-absorbed celebrity who decided to name his kid that. A quick Google search led me to that paragon of stability, Nicholas Cage. At least Kal-El can transform himself into Cal easily enough when he realizes what his parents have done to him.

For some reason, I was watching the original video of Me and Mrs. Jones on Youtube yesterday. It clearly had to be a lip sync job because Billy Paul had a cigar in his mouth for the entire tune. Try hitting a few of those notes with a lit cigar in your mouth, but only do so if you want to puke.

We acquired a Roku a little while back. My bud #1 helped me install it. As when Unc helps me with home improvement projects, I'm good for handing out the tools and occasionally holding something a little heavy. The hard work is done by them.

My wife and I tore through seasons 1-3 of Justified in record time. We had just gotten into it this year so had caught season 4 on regular TV. We are now addicted to Breaking Bad. We also catch a few things on our own. She goes for the rom coms and I'm into season 5 of The Larry Sanders Show, with an occasional switch to House of Cards. The UK has just told me about Crackle so I've seen a couple Comedians In Cars Getting Coffee. I now have about four or five unwatched episodes of Mad Men on the regular DVR. I'll need to devote more time to sitting in front of the TV.

The weather is a tad overcast her in the big FC. The report says there could be showers tonight but it looks like I'm OK to go out now and mow the lawn. I've been up since 6 but I'm nothing if not a considerate neighbor. If anybody's still sleeping at 10:30, they need to go to bed earlier.

The wife headed down the San Diego this weekend to see her mom and to get my daughter settled into her new apartment. I just checked the credit card on line and the damage is not too bad. I miss her. Her flight comes in around 6 so I plan to head up to the cell phone lot around 3 to wait for her call.
